[…about reConvert]

The concept of percussion has been altered significantly by the evolution of the instrument. Our methods are unique and reConvert project is dedicated to changing the face of the percussionist world. We have actively worked with composers such as Georges Aperghis, Simon Steen Andersen, Michael Maierhof, Daniel Ott, Marko Ciciliani, Luciano Azzigotti, and premiered over a dozen works written for training of emerging young composers.

The reConvert philosophy is based on the re-examination of the aesthetic use of percussion instruments, where musical discourse is analyzed and adapted to our creative needs. At our shows you will find numerous works using unconventional instruments and staging, creating a whole new experience for the listener.

We have offered concerts in Spain, Germany, Austria, UK, Japan, Cuba, US, Argentina, … As well, we have offered workshops in Buenos Aires, La Havana, Spain, New York or London (Royal College of Music).

Upcoming projects include concerts in Japan or Italy. We are carrying out right now our new project reConvert.NEXO, a platform to work in new percussion pieces and premiere them with the composers working with us in the whole concert. Our very first season in 17/18 in Madrid includes composers as Alberto Bernal, Abel Paúl or Óscar Escudero.
